Benaud Trio

Known for its ‘superb performances’ (Gramophone, U.K.) and ‘refreshing musicianship’ (Courier Mail), acclaimed chamber ensemble Benaud Trio is among the country’s finest.

Pianist Amir Farid, violinist Lachlan Bramble and cellist Ewen Bramble have established themselves as formidable performers of the major repertoire, works by Australian composers and are adored for their quirky encores.

Seasons is what happens when three classical musicians cross over to the ‘wrong’ side of the tracks. When Vivaldi is just not enough, Piazzolla satisfies with his fiery and sensuous take on The Four Seasons. Mark Isaacs achieves a classical-jazz crossover like no other in his new version of Closer, written especially for the Benauds. And some ‘chamber chill’ is provided by Adelaide-based Luke Altmann in Holy Fools.

‘The Benaud Trio have developed a fantastic savoir fair with works of non-classical influence. They also understand that not all music is deadly serious.’ Herald Sun
