Event details

Sepharad is a thrilling collaboration between flamenco dancer Tomas Arroquero, guitarist Kieren Ray, singer Manolo Jaen and Middle Eastern musicians Yuval Ashkar (oud) and Matt Stonehouse (percussion).

Together they explore the union of Middle Eastern and flamenco music and dance, drawing on the historical links of Jewish and Andalusian culture.

Since the second century, Spanish Jews gave the name Sepharad to the Iberian Peninsula. The descendants of Iberian Jews now refer to themselves as Sephardi Jews, and Sephardi culture has made a significant contribution to the origins of flamenco music in Andalusia, southern Spain. Celebrating this beautiful coming together of cultures, the artists’ brilliant musicianship and spectacular dance sequences engage every emotion.
