Event details

Combining the talents of Gemma Horbury (trumpet), Ros Jones (trombone), Nat Grant (drums) and Miranda Hill (bass), ThunderGrass is a new quartet of old friends.

With a wealth of experience and a genuine connection to one another, the quartet captures a maelstrom of unique musical ideas.

Taking inspiration from The Necks, the Art Orchestra of Chicago, and Sun Ra Arkestra, the quartet’s improvisations move freely between groove-based riffs and contemporary classical soundscapes. The result is tightly woven improvised jazz that exceeds categorisation.

Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre and ThunderGrass
