Event details
Be swept away into an ethereal paradise of classical songs.
Dramatic contralto Liane Keegan and pianist Simon Kenway make musical magic, performing songs of poetic wonder and high imagination. They create an ethereal escape with beautiful music inspired by faraway valleys and islands; ancient spirits and fairies at the bottom of the garden; lovers and anti-heroes; timeless romantic tragedies and picturesque wedding days. The lyrical delights of the human voice as well as the piano ring out in a program featuring Betty Beath’s Yunggamurra, River Spirit, Felix Mendelssohn’s Songs Without Words, Quilter’s Dream Valley of William Blake and Britten’s Nocturne from On This Island. Liane’s rich expression and magnetic charms, combined with Simon’s sensitive piano musicianship, will make the effect of these lyrical masterpieces all the more captivating.
