Australian-born, Malaysian Chinese singer-songwriter Emily Soon never fails to surprise first-time listeners.
Likened to Tracy Chapman, Norah Jones and Carole King, she is a young artist with an old soul. Her folk-pop songs are quietly powerful, highlighting her understated yet utterly disarming gift as a storyteller.
About this concert
Like toasted marshmallows over a campfire, singer-songwriter Emily Soon immediately draws you in close with her mellow, buttery voice. Speaking to universal themes of growth, love and grief, her lyrics draw from a wealth of experiences beyond her years. This concert blends Emily’s intimate songs with the silken sounds of Invictus Quartet. The string ensemble adds another heartfelt layer to Emily’s reflective songs, making them even more beguiling.
Melbourne Recital Centre is committed to the safety of our artists, staff and patrons. As we reopen, a range of public health, hygiene and physical distancing measures will be in place. Click here to learn more.
