Event details

‘Playing with great gusto and passion, these five uber talented musicians [steal] the hearts of everyone in the crowd.’ The Adelaide Review

Arcadia Winds is a trailblazing ensemble, known for its energetic, spontaneous and joyful style. The ensemble celebrates the great music that exists for wind quintet, exploring every angle: from classical repertoire and new works by Australian composers to inventive arrangements of music spanning the ancient to the popular.

About the concert

Wind quintets are known to bring out composers’ fun sides: their ‘Esprit’! Join Arcadia Winds for a selection of quirky, crazy and captivating favourites. The whole circus comes to town in Jean Françaix’s magical Wind Quintet No.2. György Orbán’s work is equally quirky, but in a Hungarian-folk style that contrasts beautifully with Françaix’s French flair. From Australia, new works by John Shephard and the winner of the 2021 Arcadia Winds Composition Prize prove we also know to how throw a great party.

COVID Safety
