Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre & XANI
Fuelled by a fierce vision for her craft, XANI’s brand of music-making is boldly, brilliantly, her own.
The violinist, vocalist and live-looping artist brings us along for mesmerising adventures into the spaces between pop, jazz and electronics. XANI’s colourful live sets, sometimes completely improvised, are distinguished by daring instrumental parts, pedals and effects that contrast beautifully with the warmth of her pop-styled vocals.
About the concert
One violinist becomes a full orchestra in a stunning concert featuring live looping and electronic effects. Fusing contemporary techniques with a classical instrument, Xani performs original songs and improvisations influenced by the likes of Björk, Camille, Kraftwerk, Battles and trance music. A one-woman show by a charismatic performer and storyteller not to be missed.
