Presented by Hoang Pham Productions
Hoang Pham’s annual Concerto Concert returns this year featuring Rachmaninoff’s epic Third Piano Concerto.
About this concert
Spanish and Russian flair dominate in this Concerto Concert. In 1909, Manuel de Falla began composing a set of nocturnes for solo piano which he ultimately transformed into an evocative work for piano and orchestra. The same year also featured the premiere of Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto, a work that has achieved almost mythological status as one of the hardest pieces to conquer at the piano. This program also features the Australian premiere of American composer Michael Daugherty’s Night Owl.
Melbourne Recital Centre is committed to the safety of our artists, staff and patrons. As we reopen, a range of public health, hygiene and physical distancing measures will be in place. Click here to learn more.
