‘In the dark times will there still be songs to be sung? Yes, there will still be songs to be sung, about the dark times.’ Bertolt Brecht
About this concert
National treasure Robyn Archer’s marvellous new cabaret is a true tonic for our times. The life-affirming show finds Archer at her energetic, witty and mischievous best, as she dissolves our pandemic blues with the illusory magic of song, that unique voice and her many charms. Joined by long-time collaborators George Butrumlis (accordion) and Michael Morley (piano), Archer brings out one great song after another from her impressive, wide-ranging repertoire. From Baroque Handel and bawdy Berlin to country Archer, the cabaret icon has found just the tunes to get us to look on the light side of dark times.
‘Just when we were wondering what cabaret is any more, along comes Robyn Archer to give us a splendid master class.’ The Barefoot Review
