Impressive control, an irrepressible sense of drama and extraordinary self-assurance … Betts-Dean [is] certainly one to watch.’ The Guardian
Affinity Quartet represents the next generation of Australia’s chamber music stars. The Quartet developed its craft in Europe to critical acclaim. It brings home an inspired approach to music-making, matched by its adventurous spirit as a string quartet for and of today.
Following their celebrated U.K. performances together, Affinity Quartet and mezzo-soprano Lotte Betts-Dean continue their thrilling exploration of musical treasures for string quartet and voice. Ravishing beauty and drama flows through masterworks spanning three centuries. The artists’ engaging and versatile musicianship will be on full display throughout: from the romanticism of Schubert and Brahms’s portrait of Shakespeare’s Ophelia to 21st-century works by Caroline Shaw and Matthew Laing.
Melbourne Recital Centre is committed to the safety of our artists, staff and patrons. When we reopen, a range of public health, hygiene and physical distancing measures will be in place. Click here to learn more.
