About Arcadia Winds
Arcadia Winds is a trailblazing ensemble, known for its energetic, spontaneous and joyful style. The ensemble celebrates the great music that exists for wind quintet, exploring every angle: from classical repertoire and new works by Australian composers to inventive arrangements of music spanning the ancient to the popular.
About the concert
Like the famous fertile lands of the Mississippi Delta, Arcadia Winds has become a force of nature in wind quintet music. This concert celebrates contemporary gems written by Arcadia Winds’ friends from across Australia and the world. Red Clay, Mississippi Delta is the epitome of mesmerising American flautist Valerie Coleman’s jazzy, dynamic style. From Australia, exciting works by Elizabeth Younan, Kate Neal and Holly Harrison are just as inspiring.
