Event details

Scattered Shadows is an exploration of the fragmented human experience of the present day. We live in a time when global mobility is at its height, and our lives are increasingly transient. A mystical mood and sense of ambivalence drifts over every work, inviting deep reflection.

About the artists

Persian jazz pioneer Barbod Valadi fuses music from his homeland with contemporary western styles. The classically trained multi-instrumentalist transcends the boundaries between genre, culture and style.

About the concert

Barbod Valadi brings his unique brand of magic to an East-meets-West performance like no other. The Tehran-born artist’s latest release, Scattered Shadows, builds on the foundations of the breakthrough albums, Mysteries of Eternity and Birth of the Persian Jazz , in his strongest melding of traditional Persian and contemporary jazz music to date.

COVID Safety

Melbourne Recital Centre is committed to the safety of our artists, staff and patrons. When we reopen, a range of public health, hygiene and physical distancing measures will be in place. Click here to learn more.
