About Zulya and the Children of the Underground
Zulya Kamalova’s exquisite music is inspired by her Russian and Tatar roots. At times she lights a fire beneath distant memories, at others she opens your eyes to intricate new worlds. When joined by her impressive six-piece band The Children of the Underground, the power of her songs feels even more haunting.
About the concert
In this intimate performance, Zulya and her band perform new songs inspired by the works of Tatar poet Yoldyz Minnullina. Exploring the wonder and confusion of falling in love, they paint a candid picture of one of life’s most universal and beguiling experiences.
