About this concert

Acclaimed for its performances of music from the 16th to 18th centuries, Ludovico’s Band creates a unique soundworld with a lush plucked continuo, bowed bass and exceptional soloists.

Now in its 20th year, the band weaves together improvisation and treasured compositions to create engaging and ever evolving performances of early music for a contemporary audience.

About the concert

Lucinda Moon joins Ludovico’s Band to present a beautiful programme that typifies the richly nuanced tonalities found in instrumental music of the seventeenth century. Music that balances the fragility of our joyous moments with the peace and contentment of our sorrows.

This program features works by some of the most innovative and influential violinists of their generation, including Biber, Schop and Marini. Music that captures the richness and depth of human experience.
