About Jackie Bornstein
Jackie Bornstein is one of Melbourne’s most captivating singers, known for her rich tones and ability to get to the heart of a tune. Jackie’s performances champion the music and stories of great female jazz composers, revealing hidden chapters of history to the delight of modern listeners.
About this concert
Leading up to International Women’s Day, Jackie Bornstein and her band celebrate the moving songs of remarkable women in jazz. Following her sold-out debut of the show in 2018, Jackie returns to the Primrose Potter Salon with a fresh program featuring jazz classics by more great female composers, including Peggy Lee, Kay Swift, Edith Piaf and Billie Holiday. Shifting to the women in jazz of today, Jackie also performs original pieces by herself and band member Flora Carbo.
