Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre & Michael Johnson
An ode to Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens.
About the artists
For twenty years, Michael Johnson has been the resident composer at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. Surrounded by beautiful landscapes he has performed for thousands of guests from home and abroad.
As well as a concert performer, Michael’s compositional work in mental health has been an integral to the Music and Mindfulness programs presented throughout Australia in schools, wellbeing centres and psychiatric hospitals.
About the concert
His performance in Primrose Potter Salon celebrates his twenty-year union with the gardens, inspired by the experience of working in such a beautiful environment. Honouring the sights, sounds and elements of this iconic garden, Michael weaves influences from Celtic, Classical and World music traditions to create something truly spellbinding.
Melbourne Recital Centre is committed to the safety of our artists, staff and patrons. As we reopen, a range of public health, hygiene and physical distancing measures will be in place. Click here to learn more.
