Celestial and visionary, Ella Thompson is one of Australia’s most dynamic musical talents. Ella is an ardent songwriter, who effortlessly contrasts avantgarde with pop, layering vocals and synthesizers to produce poetic dance floor bops and mediative moments. Ella is known for pushing artistic boundaries – whether it’s releasing work with her electro-pop duo GL and alt-pop group Dorsal Fins, to her captivating solo work.

About the concert

This intimate performance in Primrose Potter Salon will be a celebration of the release of Ella’s second solo album Cocoon/Dawn which is due for release late 2022. Performing all new and unreleased work with an 8-piece band, with some of the country’s brightest instrumental and vocal stars, this show breathes new life into her self-produced album with lush live arrangements. Be transported into a sonic and visual wonderland, as Ella responds to themes of connection, isolation and new beginnings.
