About the artists
The Clancye Milne Octet is comprised of some of Melbourne’s finest improvising musicians. Where big band meets chamber ensemble, the unique orchestration of the group creates countless instrumental combinations, crafting a vivid soundscape of musical textures.
About the concert
Their performance in Primrose Potter Salon pays homage to one of the greatest musical cities of the world, Melbourne. Songs for our City explores the place that has inspired great artistry, cultivating iconic musicians for decades.
Featuring works from well loved artists as Paul Kelly, Gotye and Crowded House alongside lesser-known gems, the ensemble blends masterfully arranged music with platforms of improvisation, creating an experience that blends the familiar with a newfound perspective.
