Details
New York-based guitarist and songwriter Steve Gunn presents an intimate solo show in Elisabeth Murdoch Hall.
With a career spanning almost fifteen years, Steve Gunn’s critically acclaimed solo, duo, and ensemble recordings have steadily processed his inspirations into a singular, virtuosic stream. Close listening reveals the influence of blues, folk, ecstatic free jazz, and psych in his continually unfolding output.
Gunn’s performance will feature his shimmering guitar melodies, sun-warmed vocals, and accomplished songwriting, in the most intimate of settings, Elisabeth Murdoch Hall.
The 2021 release of Gunn’s sixth studio album Other You is a celebration of his transformative ambition, producing a refreshing set of ideas reflecting on psychedelia, his love for guitar, melody, timbral originality and his keen ear for production.
This unmissable event will traverse Gunn’s music-making career, supported by beautiful melodies and his aching vocals.
