Top Class Music 2022 presents extraordinary young musicians performing three diverse programs.

About the concert

Top Class Music features incredible young musicians who received very high grades for their VCE music performance examinations in 2021. Compered by Assessors and the VCAA’s Curriculum Manager for the Performing Arts, the concerts present a range of instruments, interpretations and styles by soloists and groups. This is an opportunity to enjoy a brilliant and eclectic concert series suitable for all ages.

PROGRAM

Monday 21 March 10am
Concert 1 features a mix of soloists and groups performing Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Traditional and 20th Century pieces on a range of acoustic instruments. Performers in Concert 1 studied Music Investigation or Music Performance.

Monday 21 March 2pm
Concert 2 will also showcase soloists and groups performing Classical pieces alongside interpretations of contemporary styles including Swing, Folk, Jazz, Gospel and Experimental performances. VCE studies undertaken by these performers include VET Music Industry (Performance), Music Investigation and Music Performance.

Tuesday 22 March 1pm
Concert 3 combines the remarkable Top Class Sound composers, presenting original works in debut performances, with the highest performing contemporary soloists and group performers. This extremely diverse concert will feature Funk, Pop, Classical, Disco, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Prog Rock and a choir. All VCE music studies will be represented: VET Music Industry (Performance), Music Style and Composition, Music Investigation and Music Performance.

Compered by Assessors and the VCAA’s Curriculum Manager for the Performing Arts, this is an opportunity to enjoy a brilliant and eclectic concert series suitable for all ages.
