Nir Tsfaty & Invictus Quartet – Under the Sun

Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre & Nir Tsfaty

An atmosphere of mystery, hope and desire.

About the artists

Singer-songwriter and composer Nir Tsfaty was born and raised in Jerusalem, where he carved out a career that encompassed three studio albums, numerous compositions for dance, theatre and film, and hundreds of performances in his bands and as a soloist. Formed by four friends, Invictus Quartet has performed all around the world, collaborating with songwriters, dancers, film directors and contemporary artists. Stepping beyond their Classical roots, Invictus Quartet is passionate about sharing music of all genres-from Bach to Billie Eilish.

About the concert

Nir Tsfaty and Invictus Quartet return to Primrose Potter Salon with Nir’s new work Under The Sun — their second collaboration together. Their performance presents a misty, intimate picture of life in lockdown, 14,000 km away from home. Hope, the muses, battle of wills, life in a loop.

Influenced by 20th-century classical music and alternative British and French rock/pop, Nir’s works are infused with an atmosphere of mystery and desire. Moving from intimate chamber moments to symphonic, emotional peaks — his entrancing songs float over you like a daydream.
