Jazz in the Salon

‘Jazz is one of the best things you can find in life, it can always be your friend’ said George Gershwin.

Since exploding out of America in the early 1920s, jazz has become a global language, free to cross cultural and musical boundaries.

Here at Melbourne Recital Centre, we’re dedicated to exploring the colourful genres of jazz, blues and their offspring – funk, soul, fusion and more, with intimate club-style concerts from leading local artists in the Salon.

Herbie Hancock believed ‘jazz is about being in the moment’. Whether traditional jazz is up your alley or you fancy something a little more improvisatory, ambient or electric, step away from the daily grind and into the Salon to experience the sweet sounds of jazz at the Best Place to Hear.
