Melbourne Recital Centre corner

Essential Infrastructure Works

Melbourne Recital Centre is currently completing essential infrastructure improvements to the Sturt Street facade of the building.

These works commenced on 9 March and will continue until late July.

We are working with the construction team to minimise the impact on your experience, however the way you enter and exit the building and any drop-off or parking arrangements you may have may be affected. We recommend drop-offs and deliveries relocate to Dodds St. Please note, access to the Centre’s Stage Door remains the same.

Please see below for the latest update from 1 July.

From March – 12 March
  • Construction will take place from 7am to 4pm
  • Hoarding erected along the site and pedestrian walkway
  • A 1.5m pedestrian walkway will be maintained between the entry/exit doors on Sturt Street and the hoarding.
  • The bay / site will be partially used by trucks loading material from the canopy
From 15 March – 19 April
  • Construction will take place from 7am to 4pm
  • Hoarding reduced while cladding replacement is installed
  • Pedestrian walkway increased
  • Availability of bay for drop-offs and deliveries increases
From 1 July – late July
  • Construction will take place from 7am to 4pm
  • Aluminum panels and lighting will be fitted

We do apologise for the inconvenience caused.
