In February, Melbourne Recital Centre celebrated its seventh birthday with a Gala dinner on stage in Elisabeth Murdoch Hall.
Inspired by the ‘seventh heaven’ theme, the Hall was transformed by other-worldly floral clouds and glittering, crystaline lighting that provided a wonderful setting for superb music from William Barton, Teddy Tahu Rhodes, Marshall McGuire, Miles and Ziggy Johnston and the Invenio Singers.
The dinner is held each year to benefit the Elisabeth Murdoch Creative Development Fund. Named for the Centre’s Founding Patron, the Fund enables programs that nurture the next generation of performers and provide opportunities that make the Centre accessible to all.
