Bach Performance Skills Workshop for Young Regional Musicians

2017 JS Bach for Young Artists: Sunday 19 March 2017, 1pm – 4pm

Music students and specialist music teachers from regional Victoria are invited to participate in the Centre’s Bach Performance Skills Workshop, supported by the Newsboys Foundation. This workshop will be held in the Salon on Sunday 19 March from 1pm – 4 pm. Young regional musicians will have a unique opportunity to hear from expert musicians and develop Baroque performance skills.

Students will experience harmony singing with Choral and Voice specialist Dermot Tutty. Lecture and performance demonstrations will be given by Howard Penny (Strings), Philip Arkinstall (Winds), and Timothy Young (Piano & Harpsichord). Please note that this session is principally an information and demonstration workshop, and performance opportunities for attendees are not guaranteed.

All students attending this session are encouraged to enter the 2017 Bach Competition.

This workshop is recommended for instrumental and vocal students:

• Under the age of 17 (at 1 January 2017)
• With a minimum AMEB Grade 5 Level or equivalent

Attendance is free for students living more than 60 kilometres from the Melbourne metro area or outside of the metropolitan train network.
