Family and friends of the 11 students in the Centre’s 2017 Accelerando mentoring program recently came together to celebrate the students’ learning in a concert that featured solo and ensemble performances, reflections on the year and music specially written for the group.
Established in 2015 with a grant from the Department of Education & Training, Accelerando enables gifted senior secondary school music students from Government schools to learn more about and prepare for a career in music performance. The Centre creates tailored learning programs specific to the interests of each student to support their personal and professional development. The students participate in specialist lessons and master classes, meet industry professionals and artists, attend development workshops and see a range of Melbourne Recital Centre concerts.
We are delighted this wonderful program will continue in 2018 for a further three years thanks to the support of the Cranbourne Foundation.
If you would like to learn more about this invaluable program, please contact Sandra Robertson, Development Director on (03) 9207 2641, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Melbourne Recital Centre acknowledges the Department of Education and Training through the Strategic Partnerships Program, The Sentinel Foundation and the Late Betty Amsden AO for their generous support of this initiative.
