Established in 2016, Melbourne Recital Centre’s Amplify program enables rare opportunities for local musicians, composers, fans and the general public to connect with some of the music industry’s leading artists by funding the intimate In Conversation series.

Thanks to Amplify supporters and In Conversation, emerging artists and the public can meet and be inspired by contemporary masters. Incorporating conversation and a curated Q&A, music’s greats share musical insights from their artistic journeys.

Some of the artists who’ve jointed us In Conversation include internationally acclaimed experimental jazz trio The Necks; Lisa Gerrard and Dave Graney; Abigail Washburn and Bela Fleck; Zola Jesus and most recently the incredible Andrew Bird. If you missed out on attending any of these In Conversation events, recorded podcasts are available for download here.

If you love contemporary music and want to see Melbourne’s incredible music scene continue to thrive please consider a donation to Amplify that will make more great In Conversations possible and enable the Centre to keep expanding its contemporary music program.

Amplify supporters make this possible with donations from $500 that propel Australian artists towards successful music careers while getting opportunities to attend special events and meet the artists.
