Exciting News: Peter McMullin AM Appointed Chair of Melbourne Recital Centre


Today the Minister for Creative Industries and Melbourne Recital Centre announced the appointment of Peter McMullin AM as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, bringing vision and esteemed leadership as the organisation embarks on its next chapter. 

Peter has been an active and valued member of the Melbourne Recital Centre board since 2021 and is known for his deep personal connection to music, alongside his extensive professional experience.

'I am deeply honoured to be appointed Chair of the Melbourne Recital Centre – one of the world's most impressive live music venues and a pivotal force shaping the future of live music experiences at the heart of our transforming arts precinct. Throughout my life, music has been a profound source of connection and inspiration, which is why I'm passionate about working with the board and whole team to expand the Centre's reach and welcome diverse new audiences' he shared. 

Peter is the current Chairman and Director of the McMullin Group, a private investment group, and has been President of the Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry since 2021.

As former Mayor of City of Greater Geelong and former Deputy Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Peter brings valuable experience in civic leadership to complement his significant contributions to the arts. His board roles with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Geelong Performing Arts Centre Trust, Geelong Art Gallery, Museums Board of Victoria, and Australian Chamber Orchestra also reflect his dynamic and enduring commitment to Victoria's cultural landscape.
