A grand orchestral celebration of 100 years of Mimis Plessas, conducted by George Ellis and starring Dimitris Basis.

A musical tribute celebrating the centenary of Mimis Plessas, one of the most distinguished Greek composers of all time. Born in Athens in 1924, Plessas built a legacy that spans generations, earning universal admiration. A piano prodigy, he became the first soloist at the National Radio Foundation at a young age, later winning the University of Minnesota’s first music prize in 1952 and ranking fifth pianist in the United States the following year. His journey from virtuoso performer to revered composer and conductor reflects extraordinary talent and dedication.

With music for 104 films and over 70 theatrical productions, his influence on Greek culture is unparalleled. Songs such as Pios to xerei and Tha pio apopse to feggari remain timeless classics.

This tribute will feature renowned Greek artist Dimitris Basis, conducted by George Ellis, guiding audiences through a magical celebration of Plessas’ musical career.
