Neylon & Peele: Live at the Beacon

An intimate night with two of Australian musical theatre's freshest voices.

For one night only, join award-winning writers Neylon & Peele and four of Australia’s finest voices as they take over The Beacon for a night of songs, stories, and musical theatre magic.

From classically influenced musical theatre to rock, pop and folk, their work defies convention while still honouring the greats of musical theatre that came before. Whether through a soaring ballad, a sharply comedic number or a grungy rock banger, Neylon & Peele are on a mission to create bold, inventive, and unapologetically Australian shows that surprise, challenge and connect with audiences.

Fresh from releasing their electric new Aussie rock musical EP Kate, Gus & The Other Kids, hear songs from The Beep Test, Beau Wants to Be a Billionaire, House on Fire and more, performed with four exceptional voices and live instrumentation. From wild creative breakthroughs and crippling writer’s block to ridiculous last-minute decisions, the duo pull back the curtain on their experience writing for the Australian stage – taking listeners into a decade of inspired collaboration.

Indulge in soaring melodies, rich four-part harmonies, and storytelling that reminds us why we go to the theatre in the first place.

About the artists

Since fatefully meeting at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Conor Neylon and Jackson Peele have spent the past decade in close creative collaboration, touring their musicals across the country, performing sell-out seasons and winning multiple awards including the Green Room Award for ‘Best New Musical Theatre Writing.’ They love this art form. They love this community. They still argue about lyrics. And after a decade of working together, they’re still fascinated by what happens when two people throw an idea at the wall and refuse to leave until it becomes a fully-fledged work of musical theatre.
