Two Australian music luminaries unite for an evening of pure mastery.

In a long-anticipated debut performance, Australian jazz icon Paul Grabowsky will join forces with one of the nation's most revered singer-songwriters, Ross Wilson, whose songs form an unforgettable part of our collective musical memory.

Performing songs stretching back to his early hits with Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock, Wilson will also unveil brand-new material, with each song reimagined through Paul's inspired piano-based interpretations.

Pre-Show Dining: The Beacon opens 90 minutes before the performance for pre-show dining, with food and drinks also available to enjoy at your table during and after the show.

Tickets

Standard $65

Please note, online ticket sales for events in The Beacon close 2.5 hours before the performance. After this time, tickets can be booked by calling the MRC Box Office or visiting us in person, pending availability.

The Peter & Ruth McMullin Beacon offers a variety of seating options. Please select your preferred seating type when booking. Our Visitor Experience team will do their best to seat your party together within your selected seating type. Smaller groups may be seated alongside other ticket holders, and for sold-out performances, parties who booked later may need to be split across the remaining available seats.

Tables – Standard dining tables seating 2–4 people.
High Tables – Bar-height tables with stools seating 3–4 people.
Lounge – Curved banquette lounge seating for up to 4 people around a shared table.

About the artists

Professor Paul Grabowsky AO is a pianist, composer, arranger, and conductor with a career spanning nearly 50 years. Considered one of Australia’s most significant musicians, he has recorded over 40 albums and has won 8 ARIA Awards, as well as numerous APRA awards, 2 Helpmann Awards and a Deadly Award. He is the founder of the Australian Art Orchestra, which he led for 19 years. He directed the Queensland Music Festival in 2007 and Adelaide Festival of Arts in 2010 & 2012. He was made an Officer of the Order of Australia and is currently ED of Monash University Performing Arts Centres.

From Daddy Cool to Mondo Rock and as a solo artist with no less than 26 ARIA Top 40 hits to his credit as a singer, songwriter and producer, Ross Wilson is one of Australia’s most awarded, respected, and well-known artists! From the legendary band Daddy Cool whose number one anthem Eagle Rock and debut album “Daddy Who?” smashed all previous sales records in Australia an astounding 50 years ago in 1971, to the 1977 formation of Mondo Rock, delivering 80’s hits ‘Cool World’, ‘State of The Heart’, ‘Chemistry’, ‘No Time’, and ‘Come Said The Boy’ and into the 21st century as a solo performer, Wilson has never been out of the limelight. Twice inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, Wilson’s live performances are legendary.
