Cohen Noir

Enter the world of Leonard Cohen

Some songs become part of who we are. They accompany us through different seasons of life, revealing new meaning as we change. Leonard Cohen’s songs are among those rare companions, filled with beauty, longing, wit and extraordinary insight into what it means to be human.

Ten years after Leonard Cohen’s passing, and coming just days after what would have been his 92nd birthday, Cohen Noir invites audiences into the extraordinary world of one of music’s most enduring voices with sensitivity, imagination and heart.

Performed by triple ARIA Award-winning Monsieur Camembert, 12 exceptional musicians take to the stage, weaving together Cohen’s music, poetry and recorded voice with jazz, tango, folk, Latin and cinematic orchestration while remaining true to the emotional heart of his songs.

Joining Monsieur Camembert are Timothy James Bowen, Diana Rouvas, Lyn Bowtell, Susie Bishop, Daniel Weltlinger and the remarkable Bukhu, whose haunting Mongolian throat singing and horse-hair fiddle add another unforgettable voice to this extraordinary musical journey.

Throughout the performance, Cohen’s own recorded voice, poetry and humour weave gently through the music, drawing audiences into the man behind the songs and creating an immersive, deeply moving concert experience.

Standing ovations and sold-out performances at the Sydney Opera House, City Recital Hall, State Theatre and Adelaide Cabaret Festival have established Cohen Noir as Australia’s most celebrated homage to Leonard Cohen.

Whether you’re discovering these songs for the first time or returning to them once again, this is an evening of music, poetry and humanity that lingers long after the final note...
