Cui Jiayi: Yangqin Recital

One of China’s brightest stars makes her Australian debut.

Join acclaimed Yangqin soloist Cui Jiayi in a celebration of music for the Lunar New Year. Jiayi reinterprets works by Toru Takemitsu, Camille Saint-Saëns, and George Gershwin, alongside traditional compositions. From the delicate landscapes of Suzhou gardens to the meditative stillness of Japanese gardens, and onward to the bustling rhythms of American railroads, Jiayi transports us through soundscapes across cultures and continents, including several newly arranged works presented for the first time.

For one night only, celebrate the spirit of the Lunar New Year through the luminous sound of the Yangqin.
