Joshua Moshe

Genre-blending jazz and electronic innovation collide.
Witness award-winning saxophonist and composer Joshua Moshe unveil his most ambitious and deeply personal album yet. Recorded in early 2023 with an eight-piece ensemble, Moshe takes listeners on an expansive, genre-blending journey where Jewish folk traditions collide with contemporary jazz and electronic innovation.
For this exclusive album launch, Moshe brings his music to life on the Primrose Potter Stage with some of Australia's most acclaimed jazz musicians. Performing the album live from start to finish, they create an immersive sonic experience spanning continents and generations, led by one of the most compelling and original voices in Melbourne’s music scene.

About the Artist
Joshua Moshe is an award-winning saxophonist, composer, and educator based in Melbourne, Australia. Born in South Africa and raised between New Zealand and Australia, his creative voice reflects a journey across borders and generations, fusing jazz, Jewish, and electronic influences.
A leading voice in Melbourne’s new wave of jazz, Joshua’s music fuses the expressiveness of improvisation with production sensibilities shaped by contemporary styles. His genre-bending approach is as much about innovation as it is about lineage - rooted in the histories of jazz and Jewish folk music, while reaching into the present to create something both historic and new. He is widely recognised for his unique sound, winning the PBS Young Elder of Jazz Award in 2019, the Music Victoria Award for Best Jazz Release in 2023, and a nomination for the Australian Music Prize that same year.
