Presented by Julian Bailey

Bachonteur

Julian Bailey presents the music of J.S. Bach, with a personal twist.

Virtually dropped into the performer's living room, in this chamber performance Julian will encourage you to discover the magic of these 48 ancient works as human gems of melodic communication, not simply written for technical mastery of the keyboard.

You will learn something about the performer and more about the music he plays. Many of us know some of these works, but maybe we comprehend less about the purpose of the set, the function of a Prelude, the narrative nature of Fugues, or even how the piano offers more through a technical complexity that was not available to the original performer on the harpsichord.

The knowledgeable listener will find the musical arc of the works amplified, while the humble enthusiast will find much to grow their respect for the master composer.
