Laurel Halo live with Leila Bordreuil

Plunge beneath the surface of sound and expand the boundaries of sensory perception.
Boundary breaking composer, producer and DJ, Laurel Halo brings her unmistakable sonic signature sound to the stage for a rare live performance of new works.
Globally recognised for defying genres, Halo is a bona-fide shapeshifter of sound. Halo's oeuvre – dancing between ambient, jazz, experimental, left-field club and avant-pop defies convention. For over 15 years, Halo's output has followed a remarkable trajectory, marked by acclaimed releases and collaborations across music, design, and contemporary art.
Performing at the grand piano in the Elisabeth Murdoch Hall, she will be joined by cellist Leila Bordreuil. Together, they blend precise sound design, layered composition and masochistic amounts of subtractive EQ, dissolving the space between performer and listener.
Praise for Lauren Halo
'Halo's fifth solo album maps a diaphanous universe in which no line extends for long without dissolving into an inky blot, and even the densest, most massive shapes might disintegrate beneath a puff of breath.' - Pitchfork
