Ṣaltanah

Saltanah brings the rich tradition of classical Arabic instrumental music to vivid life.
Led by dynamic multi-instrumentalist Camille El Feghali, Saltanah is a bold new ensemble dedicated to the revival of classical Arabic instrumental music. Drawing on repertoire from the Levant, Egypt, and Iraq, Saltanah reinterprets instrumental compositions that are deeply rooted in the Arabic tradition and heritage, offering audiences a fresh yet respectful take on this enduring musical tradition.
At the heart of Saltanah's sound is a vibrant musical conversation where riq (traditional Arabic tambourine), qanun, violin, and double bass each carve their own path, weaving a rich, layered texture built on deep collective listening and spontaneous musical dialogue.
Grounded in the modal language of maqam, Saltanah invites listeners to experience the extraordinary depth, complexity, and subtlety of Arabic instrumental music at its finest.
