Selby & Friends brings its 2027 season to a close with The Romance of Dreams.
Experience a rich program from the world of High Romanticism, exploring the extraordinary musical relationship between Clara Schumann, Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms.
Clara Schumann’s beautiful work sits alongside her husband Robert’s first piano trio and their protégé Brahms’ masterful trio for clarinet, cello and piano. Peter Sculthorpe’s evocative Dream Tracks adds a distinctly Australian voice to the program.
Two acclaimed Australian artists make their Selby & Friends debuts: violinist Amalia Hall, a member of the NZTrio, and renowned clarinettist David Griffiths. They join Kathryn Selby, with highly revered cellist Julian Smiles returning for his second appearance of the season, completing an exceptional line-up to bring the 2027 season to a stirring close.
