Presented by Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School
Street Music

Musicians from the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School return to the MRC stage.
This is an unmissable opportunity to hear the next generation of Australia's musicians in a concert showcasing the breadth and versatility of the VCASS ensembles.
Under the direction of Roy Theaker, music by Corea, Márquez, Kats-Chernin and Williams explores the energy of street life, dance and urban sound worlds. The second half opens with Vivaldi's radiant Magnificat, conducted by Dermot Tutty, bringing choir and orchestra together in music of brilliance, drama and joy.
The evening culminates in the premiere of Street Music, a commissioned work by Anne Cawrse. Bringing together choir and orchestra in a vivid contemporary soundscape, this new work provides a fitting conclusion to a program that celebrates imagination, collaboration and the power of musical storytelling.
Duration: 2 hours (incl. interval). Please note, running times are approximate and subject to change.
