The Astor Piazzolla Experience

The Astor Piazzolla Experience by Revenge Tango.

The Astor Piazzolla Experience brings the music of Argentina’s most influential tango composer to life in an intimate yet powerful performance by Argentine musicians Adolfo Trepiana on bandoneon and Luciano Steffanoli on piano.

Centred on Piazzolla’s iconic Quintet repertoire, the duo reimagines these celebrated works through the distinctive combination of bandoneon and piano. Drawing on years of studying Piazzolla’s musical language and artistic identity, their interpretation honours the spirit of the original compositions while revealing new colours, textures and dramatic possibilities.

Moving between moments of intimacy and explosive intensity, the performance captures the unmistakable energy of Buenos Aires in a compelling musical dialogue between two performers.

The project also forms part of Revenge Tango’s ongoing recording series, Revenge Plays Piazzolla, which has resulted in two album releases. The duo toured Australia in both 2025 and 2026, performing at major venues and connecting with audiences across the country.
