The Cloud Maker

Ancient goddesses breathe through modern masters.

Taking to the stage like a revelation, The Cloud Maker—five extraordinary female musicians—conjure something culturally transcendent.

Born on the snow-capped peaks of Canada and refined in the Adelaide Hills, The Cloud Maker's music reimagines powerful goddess mythologies through an intoxicating instrumental palette: Te Kahureremoa Taumata's ancestral Maori Tāonga Pūoro (including hauntingly beautiful nose and bone flutes), Aviva Endean's experimental approach to clarinets and winds, Freya Schack-Arnott's emotionally charged cello and Nordic nyckelharpa, Maria Moles' propulsive drumming, and Sunny Kim's evocative vocals.

Fresh from electrifying performances at WOMADelaide and Phoenix Central Park, these five boundary-pushing virtuosos don Kate Davis' mesmerising costumes to physically embody their mythic inspirations. Fierce battles, shamanic rituals, and journeys to the afterlife unfold, rendered in sound that feels simultaneously ancient and boldly contemporary.
