Westbourne Grammar’s finest musicians share a stunning program of artistry and imagination, bringing their performing arts community together in celebration of the spirit of music.

Momentum is a dynamic showcase of music excellence that embraces a diverse range of ensemble and solo repertoire, and a breathtaking closing massed item.

Momentum is the force that carries sound forward - through time, through space, and across performers working as one. It is the energy that builds when individual lines begin to align, when rhythm gathers shape, and when music moves beyond intention into inevitability.

In this concert, the orchestra, bands, choirs, and string ensemble each explore momentum in different forms: the quiet beginning of motion, the acceleration of texture and rhythm, and the powerful release that comes when everything converges in shared direction. From delicate unfolding to full ensemble impact, each work traces how music grows not just in volume, but in purpose.

Performed in the Melbourne Recital Centre, Momentum captures the experience of collective drive: how sound is created, carried, and propelled forward by many voices becoming one.
