Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre's Bold Stage and Songlines Aboriginal Music

The Shift – An Adjustment of Thought

A Bold Stage celebration with Songlines that explores music, from first light to first sound.

From first light to first sound, music has been the constant in a world that is forever changing. The Shift – an Adjustment of Thought – asks the question why is music so majestic, with the ability to alter the way we feel about ourselves in the world today, no matter where or who we are?

Exploring how music has its own voice, an eclectic viewpoint, and the ability to infiltrate people’s lives, this concert journeys through the existential questions to realise that perhaps the answer is simple. Music may well exist for the love and wonder. Bringing together four musical practitioners from diverse interests, backgrounds and cultures, The Shift inspires them to explore music and its forays into everyday human life, on the planet and throughout the cosmos.

Bold Stage is generously supported by the Margaret Lawrence Bequest, and donors to the Learning and Access Consortium.
