MCO + Grosso - Confluence

Johannes Grosso joins MCO for a program showcasing the oboe in all its eloquence and charm.
From the elegant interplay of Bach’s Concerto for Oboe and Violin to Cimarosa’s sparkling concerto and Britten’s dazzling homage to Frank Bridge, the repertoire traces unexpected musical connections across centuries. Along the way, music by C.P.E. Bach and Arthur Benjamin reveals a rich tapestry of influence, imagination and expressive beauty.
'There is something wonderfully human about the sound of the oboe, and I can think of no finer musician to explore its many voices with than Johannes Grosso.' – Sophie Rowell, MCO
'Bach’s music transcends age, culture, and background, speaking directly to something deeply human in all of us. In a season celebrating connection and collaboration, it feels like the perfect music to share.' – Johannes Grosso, Oboe
Duration: 2 hours (incl. interval) Please note, running times are approximate and subject to change.
