Handel’s Dixit Dominus & the 2023 RMP Aria

Royal Melbourne Philharmonic

Presented by Royal Melbourne Philharmonic

Details

Royal Melbourne Philharmonic presents a rare performance of Handel’s spectacular Dixit Dominus.

One of Handel’s earliest triumphs and widely regarded as one of his finest works. Written in the florid baroque style of the Italian Baroque, it is scored for five soloists, five-part chorus, string orchestra and continuo. Andrew Wailes conducts the acclaimed RMP Choir and Orchestra and outstanding soloists.

Seven of Australia’s finest emerging singers will perform magnificent arias and recitatives from the world of oratorio, accompanied by the brilliant Australian pianist Stefan Cassomenos. A feast for all music lovers, and a concert not to be missed.
