Reimagine the spirit of Bach.

At his heart, J.S. Bach was a composer with an improvisor’s spirit, and in the hands of the Michelle Nicolle Quartet, his music is explored through this lens once more.

Together for over 20 years, the Michelle Nicolle Quartet are a jazz ensemble steeped in the tradition of interpreting and reimagining the great American Songbook as a 21st Century improvising chamber group.

About the concert

The Quartet’s Bach Project takes the majesty and formal brilliance of the great composer’s music on a journey to create a completely new sonic outcome while keeping the songs themselves unchanged.
