Details

An explosion of musical emotion.

One of Australia’s leading pianists, Kristian Chong is known for his virtuosic pianism, dynamic range and affinity for collaboration. Kristian Chong and Friends is chamber music at the highest level, delivered by some of the leading Australian and international instrumentalists in duos, trios, quartets and quintets.

For the first instalment of Kristian Chong and Friends for 2023, Kristian is joined on stage by Ike See (Australian Chamber Orchestra), Wenhong Luo, and Richard Narroway for an enchantingly intimate performance in the Primrose Potter Salon.

About the concert

Featuring Piano Quartets of Mozart and Fauré in G minor, the drama and tension of both works complement each other in a colourful and profound manner. Mozart’s rare example of a chamber work in a minor key is filled with delicate angst, while Fauré’s ravenous portrayal of human emotion results in the piece being one of his most acclaimed works.
