Cinematic soundscapes, jazz and classical strings elevate songs from the Great American Songbook and beyond.

Weaving together the magical worlds of cinematic soundscapes, jazz and classical strings, Tamara Kuldin, Matt Boden and Callisto Strings unite for an exploration of beloved songs from the Great American Songbook to Bacharach and beyond.

Callisto Strings are an ensemble dedicated to performing chamber music at concerts, festivals and events around their hometown of Melbourne. Graduates of the VCA, University of Melbourne and National Academy of Music, the members of Callisto perform regularly with ensembles such as Orchestra Victoria, Victorian Opera, Melbourne Baroque Orchestra, ARCO, Australian Session Orchestra, Inventi Ensemble, Aussie Pops, ASTRA Chamber Music Society, Solstice Piano Trio, Homophonic!, and with artists such as Georgia Fields, Grand Salvo, Nina Ferro, Mezz Coleman and Canary amongst many others.

About the concert

Their performance will take audiences on a musical journey through lush melodic landscapes, Matt Boden’s skills as a cinematic composer, orchestrator and contemporary pianist create stunning arrangements that take flight with jazz vocalist and storyteller Tamara Kuldin at the helm. Accompanied by the sophisticated stylings of the Callisto Strings quartet, settle in for an evening of songs that will surely tug at the heartstrings.
