Bhairavi Raman & Nanthesh Sivarajah

Bhairavi Raman & Nanthesh Siva

Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre & Bhairavi Raman

Details

A formidable blend of tradition, technical mastery, and musical boldness.

Experience a transcendent musical evening with Bhairavi Raman and Nanthesh Sivarajah as they take listeners on a journey through traditional Carnatic (South Indian classical) repertoires to Carnatic-inspired experimental works. With over fifteen years of concert experience and more than 400 performances to their name including the prestigious Madras Music Academy, Bhairavi and Nanthesh redefine static definitions of multicultural artistry.

Bhairavi, an Indian-Australian violinist, masterfully merges concepts and techniques to express her bicultural identity. Nanthesh, a multidisciplinary artist and percussionist, passionately combines his broad artistic skillset to produce innovative works. Together, they craft a shared musical language that transcends boundaries, boldly using sound in dynamic ways to explore the uncharted spaces between cultures. In the intimate Primrose Potter Salon, witness Bhairavi and Nanthesh as they weave an awe-inspiring performance through their formidable blend of tradition, technical brilliance, and bold creativity.

Praise for Bhairavi Raman
