Joined by award-winning Australian soprano Eleanor Lyons, witness what critics have described as a ‘vocal miracle almost impossible to grasp’ (The Hamburg Abendblatt). Known for her versatility, deep musicality, and fresh interpretations, Eleanor has garnered global attention for her sonorous voice and virtuosic performances spanning opera, orchestral concerts, chamber music, and solo recitals.

Ensemble Liaison is delighted to welcome back wonderful Australian violinist and friend, Elizabeth Sellars, for an evening of unforgettable chamber music exploring works of Beethoven, Schubert, Korngold, and Strauss. From Schubert’s evocative masterpiece ‘Ganymed Op.19, No.3’ to Korngold’s poignant ‘Glück, das mir verblieb (Marietta’s Lied)’ from Die tote Stadt, the evening culminates in Strauss’ final work, ‘Vier letzte Lieder (Four Last Songs),’ taking audiences on a profound meditation on life, love, and mortality.

Praise for Eleanor Lyons

‘We have kept for the end the shining soprano of the Australian Eleanor Lyons, whose means are almost reminiscent of those of Gundula Janowitz in her best years. A straight and powerful voice, capable of the most delicate nuances, with seemingly unlimited highs.’ – Resmusica

‘A vocal miracle almost impossible to grasp.’ – The Hamburg Abendblatt
